The Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare (ASPiH)
Conference 2024
Edinburgh International Conference Centre – 3rd – 5th November.
Last week we were delighted to exhibit at the biggest and best ever ASPiH Annual Conference. This year, the theme for the ASPiH Annual Conference 2024 was “Transformative Simulation” and marked the 15th anniversary of the event.
Peel Roleplay have long attended as delegates but after a record-breaking year for the business and after recently joining the ASPiH Corporate Council, we decided that now was the right time to exhibit.
Having been established over 14 years ago and grown to become one of the UK’s leading providers of Simulated Patients (SPs) to the medical and healthcare sectors, the conference provided the perfect opportunity to further cement our position in the marketplace. The team or Jessica, Maria, Iain and Richard were delighted to meet and network with practitioners, influencers and decision makers in simulation-based education and training. ASPiH 2024 also allowed Peel Roleplay the opportunity to be seen alongside industry peers and competitors and learn from scholars and practitioners at the very forefront of simulation-based education in the healthcare sector in the main conference hall.
Exhibiting alongside some of the best known suppliers to the simulation education industry including the likes of Laerdal, Sim & Skills, Oxford Medical Simulation, Adam Rouilly and Gaumard also allowed plenty of opportunities to discuss partnering with other exhibitors.
The event was hugely successful for Peel Roleplay. Having our own exhibition stand in the main hall enabled us to meet clinical educators and simulation training experts and specialists from higher education institutions, and the NHS who were interested in increasing the diversity of their cohort of SPs and professionalising their simulation based education activities. As Peel Roleplay have over 700 SPs on our books and access to a diverse, nationwide cohort of hundreds of specialist, trained SPs, some contacts were interested in furthering discussions about Peel Roleplay delivering both long-term ‘turnkey’ medical role player service contracts as well as more ad-hoc and specialist agreements.
On 31st October 2024, in the run up to the event, and as part of Peel Roleplay’s partnership with ASPiH, our team of Daphne, Iain, Jason and Jessica were delighted to deliver a webinar to ASPiH members. The webinar entitled “The evolution of the Simulated Patient role: Standards of best practice and innovation” was the perfect pre-cursor to our attendance in Edinburgh. Feedback from the webinar attendees was extremely positive
The Team are already looking forward to a similarly successful ASPiH Conference 2025 in Bournemouth!
