In June, we were delighted to work with major construction Company JN Bentley, Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) as they hosted 2,200+ colleagues for a company Health and Safety seminar at the Yorkshire Event Centre in Harrogate.
Coming together as one team, the event focused on important topics including health, safety and wellbeing in the construction industry, collaborative working and innovation.
Peel Roleplay were appointed to create live safety simulations using actors to re-create hazardous situations on construction sites and showcase best practice across demonstrations that included; excavation and service avoidance. In addition, the event included; exhibition stalls, theatre talks and special guest speakers – former UK rugby league player, Jamie Peacock (MBE) and Justin Manley from Titanium Talks – the event showcased all the great things happening across the business and was an opportunity to mark the 25th anniversary of MMB.
JN Bentley, MMB and JBA Bentley colleagues are spread across 10 office locations and hundreds of operational construction sites across the country. Bringing the whole company together, in one place, reinforced the One Team ethos that has been integral to the long-term success of all three businesses.
Commenting on the day, participants said:
“It was an excellent event of gathering more than 2200 people. It opened the doors to think more deeply on health, safety and the environment.” Lalith, Senior mechanical engineer
“It was a fantastic event. It was safety focused but made fun at the same time. It was a reminder that we work for a fantastic organisation that deeply cares about its people. I am already looking forward to the next one!” Izzy, Quantity surveyor
In something rather different for Peel Roleplay, it was wonderful to work with JN Bentley on a new challenge where we were able to shape scripts/scenarios and work with some of our regular actors on the delivery of impactful training simulations. The feedback was extremely positive.
The benefits of professional roleplay and simulation as an effective training tool are well documented. If you would like to talk to us about your training and simulation needs, please get in touch. We offer off-the-shelf solutions as well as full service bespoke delivery models.
Peel provided actors and script writing support for the performance of our live safety demonstrations.
This was JN Bentley’s first time working with Peel and incorporating the use of actors and live performances at a company event. The actors were professional, engaging and a pleasure to work with. We received some brilliant feedback from employees about the live safety demonstrations. They were both engaging and educating and greatly enhanced the overall experience for our colleagues.
Thank you to everyone at Peel and the actors for their support. We hope to work with Peel again on future projects."
