Case Study: Clinical Associate in Psychology End Point Assessments
Since 2022, Peel Roleplay has provided role actors/simulated patients to CAP End Point Assessments at various institutions across the UK including the University of Exeter, University of Plymouth, University of Kent, Royal Holloway University of London, and Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.
The use of role actors was a new prospect to many of the assessments leads, so it has been important to work closely together to establish best practice, provide scenario support and give further training and tailored upskilling to role actors who are often required to learn a range of roles over the course of these week-long assessments, including clinical supervisor roles as well as various patient/client cases.
“From all of us organising the EPA process, we wanted to say a huge thank you for your sterling work. It was an entirely new process for us all, and your willingness to take this on, step into quite a degree of uncertainty and embrace the process was amazing. You all put the CAPs at ease and gave them the very best opportunity to show the skills they’ve developed over the last 17 months.”
