Peel Roleplay

We are delighted to announce that Peel Roleplay has been appointed as the new provider of Simulated Patient Actor Services for Lancaster Medical School, following a competitive tender process.

This exciting new partnership will see Peel Roleplay working collaboratively with Lancaster University to support the delivery of high-quality simulation-based education and assessment activities for medical students, helping to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals through authentic and meaningful patient interaction experiences.

Under the new contract, Peel Roleplay will provide a comprehensive range of services including the recruitment, training and management of professional Simulated Patients (SPs) to support communication skills teaching, clinical skills training and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs). In addition, the partnership will include support for the Medical School’s developing Tutor-SP model, helping to ensure students benefit from consistent, high-quality feedback and realistic patient-centred learning experiences throughout their training.

As a national provider with more than 15 years of specialist experience in medical roleplay and simulation, Peel Roleplay was selected based on the strength of our proven delivery model, our extensive national network of highly trained SPs, and our commitment to quality assurance, operational excellence and collaborative partnership working.

Over the coming months, our team will begin a comprehensive mobilisation programme working closely alongside colleagues at Lancaster Medical School to prepare for service delivery commencing in September 2026. This will include workforce planning, actor recruitment and onboarding, scenario familiarisation, Tutor-SP preparation, quality assurance processes and detailed operational planning to ensure a smooth and successful transition into the new academic year.

We are incredibly proud to have been chosen to support another leading UK Medical School and are very much looking forward to working in partnership with the Lancaster team as we begin this exciting new chapter together.

Jessica Wright, Managing Director of Peel Roleplay, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to have been selected by Lancaster Medical School and are very much looking forward to building a strong and collaborative partnership with the University. Medical education and simulation-based learning remain at the heart of what we do, and we are excited to bring the experience, professionalism and innovation of the Peel Roleplay team to support Lancaster’s future healthcare professionals.”

We look forward to sharing more updates as this exciting partnership develops.
