Peel Roleplay

As another busy assessment season draws to a close and a new academic year begins, Peel Roleplay is celebrating the skilled and dedicated Simulated Patients who support medical education and assessment across the UK.

Throughout the year, our Simulated Patients have worked alongside leading medical schools and healthcare education providers, helping students and experienced clinicians develop, demonstrate and refine essential clinical and communication skills.

The work demands far more than simply learning a role. Simulated Patients must understand detailed station instructions, portray clinical presentations consistently and authentically, respond appropriately to each candidate and maintain the same high standard throughout demanding teaching sessions and examinations.

Their professionalism was recently recognised by Kirstie Brown, Co-Programme Lead for the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice and Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter, following the university’s Advanced Clinical Practice OSCE resits:

“Just to say a huge thank you to the SP’s who attended the OSCE resits last week, they were incredibly professional and had learnt two lots of station instructions and executed them to a really high standard. It made the running of the day extremely smooth.

Passing on our thanks, to you at PEEL for continually supplying us with such high quality individuals.

Please pass on our thanks to all individuals who have taken part in the ACP OSCEs this year, we are so thankful to you all.”

This feedback reflects the expertise, preparation and commitment demonstrated by our Simulated Patients nationwide. Whether supporting communication skills teaching, high-stakes OSCEs, advanced clinical practice programmes or specialist professional training, they play a vital role in creating realistic, consistent and equitable learning and assessment experiences.

As we move into the new academic year, Peel Roleplay is once again preparing to provide specialist Simulated Patients to medical schools and healthcare institutions across the UK. Our national pool enables us to meet complex requirements at scale while maintaining the quality, reliability and careful standardisation for which our teams are known.

We would like to thank every Simulated Patient, Quality Assurance Simulated Patient, Tutor-SP and On-Site Coordinator who has contributed during the past academic year. Your skill, flexibility and professionalism make this work possible.

We also look forward to continuing our partnerships with long-standing clients, welcoming new institutions and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals throughout the 2026/27 academic year.
