Peel Roleplay

In the last few years, Peel Roleplay have expanded their client base outside of the niche world of Medicine and Healthcare simulation and now work with a range of Emergency Services or ‘Blue Light’ clients, providing simulation services across live and digital spaces.

In 2023, we became the exclusive providers of roleplay actors to the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Police Constabularies (The Seven Force Strategic Collaboration). Since then, we’ve regularly provided roleplay actors for Investigative Interviewing courses such as PIP1, PIP2 and specialist victim, witness and suspect interviewing. In the last year, we have also worked with the Counter Terrorism policing branch and have been commissioned to write specific digital and Virtual Reality training materials to raise awareness amongst police staff across the UK on issues including Cuckooing, Child Criminal Exploitation and Knife Crime.

We were therefore delighted to attend The Emergency Services & The Emergency Tech Shows at The NEC on the 18th and 19th September 2024- Jessica Wright (MD) and Rich Dawson (BDM) of the Peel Roleplay Team headed down to Birmingham last week to see what was on offer.

The Emergency Services Show and The Emergency Tech Shows are Europe’s industry-leading annual events tailored to the specific needs of emergency services personnel in the UK.

Along with 16,000+ blue light professionals, we were able to share key skills and knowledge of Peel Roleplay’s services and talk about how our services benefit training and education in the sector by delivering impactful, engaging and immersive experiences across both live and digital spaces.

Those in attendance included: Regional Police, Ambulance, Paramedic and Fire forces, technology-companies and new tech solutions for the sector, clothing and equipment providers, educational establishments including colleges and universities and simulation companies. A strong theme of the day was the ongoing desire to further professionalise and improve training and education programmes through the combined use of both professional role play actors and of innovative and immersive technologies including VR and AR.

During the event, we were also able to foster some meaningful cross-sector connections with colleagues and peers and learn more about the importance of AI, AR and VR in devising and developing training and simulation programmes for UK bluelight staff and organisations.
